Anessah Cabiness

Anessah
Cabiness, as a sophomore at East Orange High School, joined SYSTAs 4
SYSTAs as a little systa in 1994/1995. After graduating high school in
1997, she was accepted into The Richard Stockton College of NJ where
she went on to major in Speech Pathology & Audiology. Anessah
earned her B.S. In Speech Pathology and Audiology in 2001.
Upon
graduating from Stockton, she was offered a position at McAuley School
for Exceptional Children in Watchung, NJ as a Speech Correctionist.
She has been a faculty member since 2002. She works directly with
students ages 5-21 on improving their speech, language, and social
skills in individual, group as well as classroom sessions. Anessah also
works very closely with special educators, teacher aides, health care
professionals and parents on developing the child’s communication
skills.
Recently,
she earned her M.A. Ed in Instructional Leadership and wishes to become
an advocate for special education. As a member of SYSTAs 4 SYSTAs, she
volunteers in all capacities, setting up outreach booths at various
community events, seeking sponsors to aid the organization, and
facilitating self awareness workshops for high school students. Her
gratitude for the opportunities S4S bestowed upon her, motivates her to
give inspiration to other girls and young women in her community.
