Anessah Cabiness
Program Coordinator/Mentor

Anessah Cabiness, as a sophomore at East Orange High School, joined SYSTAs 4 SYSTAs as a little systa in 1994/1995. After graduating high school in 1997, she was accepted into The Richard Stockton College of NJ where she went on to major in Speech Pathology & Audiology.   Anessah earned her B.S.  In Speech Pathology and Audiology in 2001.

Upon graduating from Stockton, she was offered a position at McAuley School for Exceptional Children in Watchung, NJ as a Speech Correctionist.  She has been a faculty member since 2002. She works directly with students ages 5-21 on improving their speech, language, and social skills in individual, group as well as classroom sessions. Anessah also works very closely with special educators, teacher aides, health care professionals and parents on developing the child’s communication skills.

Recently, she earned her M.A. Ed in Instructional Leadership and wishes to become an advocate for special education. As a member of SYSTAs 4 SYSTAs, she volunteers in all capacities, setting up outreach booths at various community events, seeking sponsors to aid the organization, and facilitating self awareness workshops for high school students. Her gratitude for the opportunities S4S bestowed upon her, motivates her to give inspiration to other girls and young women in her community.
