Judeline Docima
Program Coordinator/Mentor
Judeline Docima moved to Orange, New Jersey in 1999 from Gonaives, Haiti. She
received an educational and supportive foundation at Orange Alternative High
School where she met inspiring individuals like big systa/mentor Zelda Everson.
“….she became deeply involved in my life.”
As a young student she was not allowed to participate in school activities due
to her mother being very protective and unfamiliar with America’s urban culture.
But after Judeline’s participation with S4S in a Female Support course at Orange
Alternative High School she had a change of heart.
In 2005, during career day at school she met another mentor, Mr. William Graves
of Classic Caterers/Sandwich Den. He seized an opportunity to invest in the
community by hiring Judeline and teaching her everything there is to know about
the catering business. She affirms that the big systas became provided the
encouragement she needed to apply at Essex County College. After graduation in
2006, she utilized her SOS Achievement Award to purchase books while attending
Essex County College.
Her strong work ethics and leadership qualities prompted S4S to tap Judeline to
begin training as a mentor with the after school program. Currently, Judeline’s
enjoys her financial independence as she continues to work at Classic Caterers
and attend school. She also serves as an example to her newfound lil’ systas
through consistent volunteering and spreading inspiration. “My fabulous big
systas have been there for me every step of the way. They have been “the unsung
inspiration” of my life’s journey so far.”
